Cocker Pit

Branding
Cocker Pit is an intense, character-driven gaming concept created for a futuristic multiplayer combat game. The core idea centered on arena-style dogfights using mech-inspired aircrafts, blending old-school arcade energy with modern 3D rendering. Our role was to design the brand identity, interface system, and marketing visuals for the game’s launch phase. The client wanted the project to feel gritty, mechanical, and immersive—something that spoke to gamers who appreciate detailed environments and high-stakes action. The aesthetic direction pulled inspiration from sci-fi films, cockpit schematics, and military aircraft designs to create a believable, adrenaline-filled universe.
Overview
The design vision was all about immersion. From the moment a player enters the interface, they should feel like they’re sitting inside a battle-ready cockpit. We designed the logo with industrial-style typefaces and mechanical iconography, supported by metallic color palettes and motion UI elements. The HUD (heads-up display) and menus were styled with toggles, switches, and schematic animations to simulate a control system. Marketing assets—including cinematic posters, in-game screenshots, and teaser trailers—were crafted to match the intensity of gameplay. Everything was geared toward drawing the audience into the gritty, fast-paced world of Cocker Pit.
Challenges
Creating a unified aesthetic that worked across gameplay, UI, and promotional visuals was a major challenge. The game’s internal design had many moving parts, and we had to match that complexity without overcomplicating the visual hierarchy. We also had to consider the scalability of UI elements across different screen resolutions and devices. Another big challenge was making the branding instantly recognizable in a crowded market filled with sci-fi and mech-based games. We needed to develop a visual signature that set Cocker Pit apart without leaning too hard on genre clichés.
Solutions
We approached these challenges with a layered design strategy. For branding, we created a gritty emblem that fused mechanical parts with abstract fighter wing shapes, then paired it with a modular type system for use in UI screens. We developed a color system based on steel grays, neon reds, and subtle gradients, giving the visuals both weight and contrast. The HUD was built with scalable vector components, ensuring clarity on both small and large displays. Our team also built motion prototypes to show how UI animations would function in real time, helping the developers integrate them seamlessly.
Outcome
Cocker Pit’s launch visuals generated buzz well ahead of the beta release, with teaser videos gaining thousands of views in the first week. Early access users praised the interface for being both visually rich and easy to navigate, and several gaming blogs featured the project as an example of strong UI/UX design in indie gaming. Post-launch, the branding and interface held up across updates and expansion packs, reinforcing the identity we helped establish. The client reported increased player retention and strong community feedback—proof that the visual design delivered both aesthetic power and functional value.
